CBA unveils Daniel Marrocos Camposilvan as Energy Business Officer

São Paulo, January 18, 2022 – The Board of Directors of CBA – Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio (CBAV3) has today approved the appointment of Daniel Marrocos Camposilvan as Energy Business Officer as of February 01, 2022. The announcement of the new executive reinforces the process of insourcing the management of energy assets, with CBA now managing the operation of its 21 hydroelectric plants, formerly managed by Votorantim Energia under a service provision agreement.

Daniel Camposilvan’s main responsibilities include leading the management of these plants (operation and maintenance), ensuring sound ESG practices are established; efficient power balancing, creating value and competitiveness for the Company and managing energy holdings and ventures.

Experience in the energy segment – Daniel Marrocos Camposilvan has extensive experience in the Energy segment, primarily focused on energy marketing. He started his career with a brief stint in consultancy and moved to CCEE Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica in 2004, to work as an analyst, supporting market agents in regulatory matters.

In 2007 Mr. Camposilvan joined CPFL Energia, working directly from the energy trading desk. The executive then served on the Market Board before assuming the presidency of CPFL Comercializadora. In 2018 he was appointed leading partner of a new trader, Newcom Energia, a subsidiary of Comerc Energia, where he held the position of Vice-president of Trading. Daniel Camposilvan served on the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Association of Energy Traders (Abraceel).

He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Itajubá, executive qualifications (MBA) in Agroenergy from USP/ Esalq and Innovation from HSM University and a Masters degree in electrical engineering focused on energy markets from Universidade Federal de Itajubá.
