CBA is selecting aluminum entrepreneurs and investing capital to drive its business

The 2021 Empreende Alumínio [Aluminum Entrepreneurism] program trained 107 entrepreneurs. Four finalist projects will receive seed capital to develop their business plans.

 

Alumínio, February 3, 2022 – The Empreende Alumínio project, a CBA (Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio) (CBAV3) initiative, in which it partnered with Instituto Votorantim and Instituto Meio, trained 107 entrepreneurs in the city of Alumínio, São Paulo state in 2021.  In addition to the training received, four finalist businesses will receive seed capital totaling R$ 24 thousand and receive management follow-up throughout 2022.

In this new phase, the selected entrepreneurs will be closely monitored by experts who will help them develop and implement a business plan.  In addition, the entrepreneurs will continue to receive guidance in management processes, working capital, inventory, and training in the use of technology tools to help them manage their projects.  The four finalists are a pet shop, a smoked meats (charcuterie) restaurant, a costume jewelry company, and a cosmetics enterprise.

Specific training – In 2021, 107 entrepreneurs were trained using themes chosen by the participants, specifically Strategic Analysis, to identify the strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities of their business and their current situation; Strategic Planning, to set targets and create an action plan; Finance and Digitization. They were also trained in how to get their companies to join the digital world.

The three-month training was virtual and free of charge.  The projects that will receive seed capital were selected by an assessment committee made up of CBA, Instituto Votorantim, and Instituto Meio professionals who applied the program criteria and regulations.

According to Leandro Faria, CBA’s General Manager of Sustainability, the main goal of the Empreende Alumínio program is to develop projects that foster local economic development. “CBA seeks to drive the economy of the city and encourage job and income creation”
